Avoiding the Sun
A large part of Cambodian life is lived outside for the majority of the people, and that creates a problem for the women who don't want their skin to tan or darken. There is a strong cultural preference here for lighter-skinned individuals, and the women go to great lengths to keep the sun away from their skin.
