| When I was home in April for my mother's funeral, I was talking to Fr. Joe Graffis at the funeral home and we developed a plan for my speaking at his parish, St. Edward's in Jeffersontown, Kentucky, when I returned this summer. This weekend I spoke at the three masses for the parish and had a really enjoyable time. |

Fr. Joe Graffis is the pastor at St. Edward's Church. His parish is notable for the excellence of the liturgical celebrations there. Everything is well planned and the ministers are especially skilled and organized. |
- Joe Graffis and I went to St. Thomas Seminary and St. Mary's Seminary together for eleven years. He served as the deacon at my first mass and I concelebrated at his first mass a year later.
- An interesting occurrence at St. Edward's was running into my eighth grade teacher at St. Columba. I couldn't believe how young she looked because it has been 48 years since I have seen her and she already seemed old when as I knew her when I was a 13-year old.
